In most cases you can navigate away from an iPad app by clicking the home button. The recommended resolution for this is to turn an iPad off then on again to clear out application memory and get the device running smoothly again. If restarting the iPad is not an option and you are unable to navigate to the home screen because an app is frozen, try “killing” or “force quitting” the app using the following steps:
- Hold down the Sleep/Wake button until the “slide to power off ” prompt appears.
- Hold down the Home Button until the screen clears and returns you to the home screen.
If you are still unable to perform either of these steps your iPad may need to be reset. To reset your iPad press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
